Obsidian
Obsidian is a stone formed by natural volcanic glass when sudden cooling solidifies lava, preventing minerals from crystallizing. It is named after the Roman general Obsius, who first brought this stone to Rome from Ethiopia.
Since prehistoric times, all civilizations that had this stone at their disposal have used its very sharp properties to make weapons and tools.
The Egyptians made surgical instruments from it but also used it as an ornamental stone to carve vases, cups and statuettes.
The Aztecs considered it a magical stone and used it to make mirrors in which they could read the future. Obsidian has sometimes been nicknamed the "mirror of the Incas," but all civilizations have used it for this purpose.

Lithotherapy invites you to discover benefits such as purification, healing, or calming through stones and their energies. However, like all wellness and spirituality products, the use of natural stones in no way replaces the advice of a healthcare professional and cannot replace medical treatment. Only your doctor has the skills required to diagnose a possible pathology and make the appropriate prescription. This information relates to the traditional properties of stones in lithotherapy as indicated by numerous reference works.
