The Lava Stone
Lava rock, also known as basalt, is one of the main constituents of the Earth's crust as well as the oceanic crust. Lava rocks are of volcanic origin and come from molten magma released during volcanic eruptions. The magma suddenly drops from 1000°C to the outside temperature, cools and solidifies to form this black stone.
In ancient Rome, basalt was believed to bring strength and protection to its wearer. It also helped ward off spells and bewitchments.
Widely used in the Middle Ages for the manufacture of mortar in the construction of buildings, notably thanks to its refractory properties, it is capable of storing heat and absorbing humidity. Note that the Notre-Dame de L'Assomption Cathedral in Clermont-Ferrand is built from Volvic lava stone.

Lithotherapy invites you to discover benefits such as purification, healing, or calming through stones and their energies. However, like all wellness and spirituality products, the use of natural stones in no way replaces the advice of a healthcare professional and cannot replace medical treatment. Only your doctor has the skills required to diagnose a possible pathology and make the appropriate prescription. This information relates to the traditional properties of stones in lithotherapy as indicated by numerous reference works.
