Hematite
Its name comes from the Latin haematites itself derived from the Greek haima (blood), referring to the red color of its powder, Hematite being sometimes called "bloodstone". This stone is mainly known in its polished form, which gives it a metallic gray luster, but in its raw form, its colors can vary from black to red.
During the Paleolithic period, the Hematite stone was transformed by homo sapiens into red ochre paint pigment used to draw bison and reindeer, notably those in the Chauvet cave (approx. 30,000 years ago) and the Lascaux cave (approx. 20,000 years ago).
In ancient Egypt, Hematite was recognized for its great healing properties, being able to treat blood-related diseases and ward off evil spirits.
The Maya considered minerals with reflective surfaces, such as pyrite, hematite, and obsidian, to be gateways to other planes of the universe.

Lithotherapy invites you to discover benefits such as purification, healing, or calming through stones and their energies. However, like all wellness and spirituality products, the use of natural stones in no way replaces the advice of a healthcare professional and cannot replace medical treatment. Only your doctor has the skills required to diagnose a possible pathology and make the appropriate prescription. This information relates to the traditional properties of stones in lithotherapy as indicated by numerous reference works.
